Wikidata Mirror Shutdown

After two years online, Semantic Builders is undergoing a radical change.

We have shut down our Wikidata SPARQL mirror, which was once the core of our platform. We made this decision after two years of analyzing user behavior and seeing the limitations of the service. Our data showed that most users weren't running complex queries susceptible to timeouts on Wikidata's public endpoint. Instead, they were requesting very large result sets, which were still difficult to retrieve and work with, even without the timeout restrictions.

For this reason, we've decided to stop offering the SPARQL mirror and focus instead on improving our batch data extraction service. The service has been completely rebuilt and is now offered at a lower cost than the original €5 fee. We believe this makes it easier for users to get the most out of Wikidata by retrieving large portions of data from its massive - and otherwise difficult-to-manage - database.

This major shift reflects our original goal for Semantic Builders: to provide tools that help you unlock Wikidata's full potential.
